Spring-Summer 2014 collection Lady Garage
Christophe Guillarmé’s inspiration for summer 2014 turns from Old Hollywood glamour to New York City post war social scene. Late 50’s mood revisited as per Mad Men drama series, acclaimed by socialites between Madison and Park Avenues among them Doris Duke or Barbara Hutton visiting British leading dancer lady Margot Fonteyn ending a reherseal in her tutu.
Excentric style with confidence and unique gait where duchess satin is mixed with ubiquitous lace: sometime used with golden effect or applied with guipure or cross stitch…
Ethereal tulle and second skin jersey are completing fabrics.
For this golden age of couture it’s quite obvious to favour gold blended with immaculate white or champagne and beige.
Vivid tones to awake the collection are fuchsia and coral pinks, peach next to lipstick red.
Black is remaining for drama gowns playing with tranparency.
Reminiscence of « Breafast at Tiffany’s » for a sparkly but refine contemporary style.
